Kingston Man Charged With Sexual Molestation of Children x3 092117

Calls for Service

Kingston Police had 144 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on September 20, 2017. Of these, 96 calls occurred in the city central area, 23 in the west end, 8 in the east end, and 2 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

  • 5 undesirable calls

  • 11 noise complaints
  • 1 missing person call
  • 2 Mental Health Act calls

  • 9 assist citizen calls
  • 3 break and enter calls
  • 10 theft calls
  • 1 theft of vehicle call
  • 2 mischief calls
  • 3 fraud calls
  • 11 motor vehicle collisions
  • 10 driving complaints
  • 12 suspicious activity calls
  • 2 trespass/prowler calls

There were 7 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 6 men and 1 woman, between 20 and 55 years of age, for the following: trespass at night, obstruct police, possession of stolen property, fraud, possession of stolen property, utter forged documents, sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation, sexual interference, assault, public intoxication, and breach of recognizance. One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Officers Catch Thief Sneaking Out of Backyard with Stolen Property

A 24-year-old local woman was arrested after patrol officers caught her coming out of a backyard with stolen property.

On September 21, 2017 at approximately 2:45 a.m. a patrol officer observed a person dismount a bicycle, hide it in the bushes and then sneak into a backyard. Officers surrounded the residence and caught a female exiting the rear yard while carrying a small tent, a purse and a backpack.

The female was arrested and initially attempted to use a false name. Once the female was identified it was determined she was breaching her recognizance. The female accused was transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with trespass at night, obstruct police, possession of stolen property, and three breaches of recognizance.

Man Arrested after Attempting to Cash Stolen Cheque

A 31-year-old Inverary man was caught trying to cash a stolen cheque at a business on Princess Street.

On September 20, 2017 at approximately 7:15 p.m. the accused attended the business where he routinely cashes his government cheques. On this occasion he raised suspicion while attempting to cash a cheque form another party. When staff investigated they learned the cheque was reported stolen and police were called.

The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with fraud, possession of stolen property, and utter forged documents.

Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Child

A 20-year-old local man has been charged with numerous sexual assault related offences he committed as a teenager and young adult.

On August 29, 2017 Detectives from the Kingston Police Sexual Assault unit began an investigation which revealed three incidents between 2013 and 2016. The victim was under 10 years of age during these events.

The first two incidents took place at a north end residence while the accused was babysitting the victim. The accused was between 16 and 17 years of age. The third incident took place while the accused temporarily resided with the victim and her family. The accused was 18 years of age.

The victim eventually disclosed the incidents to her mother and police were contacted.

On September 20, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m. the accused was located at his residence and arrested. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation, sexual interference, and assault.

Police Looking for Witnesses to Assault at K-Rock Concert

On September 8, 2017 at approximately 10:30 p.m. an assault occurred at the K-Rock Centre during the 90’s concert.

The musician called for fans to come up on stage and when the complainant got to the stage she was stopped by a security guard. The crowd continued to move forward and she was pushed further ahead. As a result a second security guard came over and the complainant was allegedly assaulted by the two guards.

The security guards were identified by black shirts with security printed on them.

Critical Incident Training Exercise

On September 19, 2017 the Kingston Police conducted training to test their response to a critical incident involving a barricaded individual(s). The training involved the Kingston Police Incident Commanders, Negotiators and Tactical Unit Officers. Over 20 actors were used to make the incident as real as possible and the exercise took place over 12 hours.

Kingston Police would like to thank the Emergency Management Class from La Salle Secondary School for their participation and assistance.
