Calls for Service
Kingston Police had 133 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on September 26, 2017. Of these, 92 calls occurred in the city central area, 17 in the west end, 7 in the east end, and 2 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

- 2 traffic concerns
- 6 suspicious activity calls
There were 4 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 3 men and 1 woman, between 21 and 41 years of age, for the following: criminal harassment, trespass at night, obstruct Police, possession of stolen property, theft, wilfully promoting hatred, assault, breach of probation, breach of release conditions, and warrants.

Man Charged with Hate Crime

A 39-year-old local man of no fixed address has been charged after a hateful incident in a downtown store.
On September 26 at approximately 12:00 p.m. the accused was in a downtown store and when a cashier questioned him about the content of his bags he became irate and made a racial slur towards her. He gave her the finger and spat in her face. Officers were dispatched and within 20 minutes located the man at Princess and Albert Street. He was arrested for criminal harassment, assault, wilfully promoting hatred and breach of release conditions.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
Thief Takes Something and Leaves Something

A 21-year-old local man of no fixed address has been arrested for theft after leaving a clue to his identity behind.
Sometime overnight between July 26 and July 27 the accused entered three cars in a driveway on Woodbine Road. He rummaged through their interiors leaving with personal items valued at approximately $200. Presumably without intent, he left behind his cell phone which ultimately put Detectives hot on his trail. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was located on September 26 at a Princess Street apartment.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with trespass by night, theft, and breach of probation.
Woman with Stolen Bikes Attempts to Give False Name

A 41-year-old woman from Lyndhurst has been arrested after an officer witnessed her suspicious behavior.
On September 26 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a Kingston patrol officer observed the accused walking 2 bikes northbound on Montreal Street near Railway Street. The officer turned the cruiser around and she then made a quick turn towards an address. She abandoned the bikes there and engaged the officer with his questions. When asked who owned the bikes and what her name was her answers kept changing. Eventually the officer learned of her outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The accused was charged with obstruct Police and possession of stolen property.
