Cornwall Man Charged w Stunt Driving on 401 Near Brockville While Arguing MPH vs KPH 030618

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police educated a driver after the driver performed a stunt while passing a police car on Highway 401 in Leeds County.

On March 4, 2018 at about 2:30 AM officers were on mobile patrol on Highway 401, westbound in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township when a westbound car blew by the cruiser at 159 km/hr. The argumentative driver disagreed with the officer saying it was not possible as he was driving 98.

Turns out 98 MPH = 159 KMH.

The 40 year old Cornwall, Ontario man had his vehicle impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence suspended. A future court date in Brockville was arranged for the man to answer to a stunt driving charge.
