OPP Seeks Public Assistance In Electronics Store Robbery In Rockland
(ROCKLAND, ON.) – The Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s assistance locating a suspect involved in an armed robbery.
On March 9, 2018, at approximately 9:20 PM members of Russell County OPP were dispatched to an armed robbery at The Source electronics store at 3004 Richelieu Street in the city of Rockland, Ontario. Two masked males entered the store while a third individual remained outside in a dark coloured Chevrolet full cab pick-up truck with no license plates. The two males left the store with an undisclosed amount of electronics equipment and left in the pick-up truck. No one was injured during the robbery.
On March 10, 2018, at approximately 1:30 AM, a male was arrested in connection with the robbery. Adrian LAI, a 27-year old male from Ottawa, Ontario was charged with one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Disguise with Intent, two counts of Forcible Confinement, and two counts of Pointing a Firearm. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal, Ontario on April 11, 2018.
At approximately 3:05 AM a female was arrested in connection with the robbery. Wajiha HAYEE, a 30-year old female from Ottawa, Ontario was charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence, and one count of Robbery Using Firearm. She is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal, Ontario on March 14, 2018.
A publication ban has now been placed on court proceedings in this case.
The third suspect is described as a tall male, wearing black clothing, and English speaking. Russell County OPP are asking for information leading to the identity and arrest of the third suspect.
