Former High School Teacher Arrested For Sexual Assault
(HAWKESBURY, ON) – On November 14, 2018, the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), arrested and charged a former high school teacher of Hawkesbury.
The historical sexual assault investigation, conducted by members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit, began in April 2018 when the victim first reported the abuse to police. The sexual abuse occurred in the early 1980s, while the offender was a teacher at a local high school.
The investigation led to the arrest of Adrien ASSELIN, a 79-year-old male of Hawkesbury, Ontario. He is charged, as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) of 1983, with:
– Indecent Assault on Male
– Acts of Gross Indecency and
– Sexual Assault
He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on November 15, 2018.
