POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Aronhientha Benedict-Oakes, 22, of Akwesasne was arrested on March 6th, 2019 and charged with the following:
• Possession of over 30 grams of cannabis in a public place
• Breach of undertaking (for failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of recognizance (for possessing drugs, for having the care and control of a motor vehicle, and for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on March 6th, 2019, the man was stopped at the Port of Entry and found to be in breach of his conditions and also in possession of over 30 grams of cannabis. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC THREATS, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 6th, 2019 and charged with threats x 2 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in February and March, the man made threats to kill his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On March 6th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – James Quinn, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on March 5th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000, breach of recognizance for attending a certain business, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 22nd, 2019, the man attended a Second Street business, despite his conditions, and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 5th, 2019, police located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 5th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument with her parents, the woman damaged a window in the residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 9th, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Kanento Boots, 65, of Akwesasne was arrested on March 5th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on February 25th, 2019 for an impaired offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 5th, 2019, the man was stopped at the Port of Entry and police were contacted. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
RESIST ARREST, ASSAULT POLICE, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Ronnie Germann, 20, of Kingston was arrested on March 5th, 2019 and charged with resist arrest, assault police and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. While investigating an unrelated matter, it is alleged the man threw a bag at two officers. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT & MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 5th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged during an argument with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her and damaged a window in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM, ASSAULT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old North Augusta, ON man was arrested on March 6th, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon, assault cause bodily harm, assault and breach of recognizance for leaving his residence with alcohol in his body. It is alleged during the early morning hours on March 6th, 2019, the intoxicated man assaulted his wife and struck her with a stick, causing her to seek medical attention for her injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
