CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 25th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the youth repeatedly harassed another youth known to him in a threatening conduct, despite being warned not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT UNDER $5000, FAIL TO APPEAR PRINTS, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Shawnna Chartrand, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000, fail to appear prints, as well as breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. She was also charged with breach of undertaking for possessing alcohol. It is alleged on February 22nd, 2019, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed alcohol and other items, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. It is further alleged on March 22nd, 2019, the woman failed to attend for prints and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Marc Dumond, 54, of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 23rd, 2019, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2019.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Bradley Legue, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on February 5th, 2019, the man made threats to kill a man unknown to him and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 25th, 2019, police located the man. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – Christopher Forget, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on March 16th, 2019, the man attended a Cornwall Square business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2019.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Justin Young, 25, of Morrisburg was arrested on March 25th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on July 6th, 2018, the man damaged the windshield of a car belonging to a man known to him. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 25th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from OPP, as the man was taken into custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and the man was released to appear in court on April 25th, 2019.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 25th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault x 2. It is alleged during an argument with her girlfriend on March 19th and 22nd, the woman assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. On March 25th, 2019, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
DANGEROUS OPERATION CAUSING BODILY HARM
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Long Sault youth was arrested on March 25th, 2019 and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm x 2. It is alleged on February 8th, 2019, the youth was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner when the vehicle struck a pole in the area of Brookdale Avenue and Ninth Street. Two passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. On March 25th, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
