SD&G OPP NEWS
(STORMONT, DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 173 calls for service from Friday August 23, 2019 to Monday August 26, 2019.
Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:
– 18 motor vehicle collisions
– 14 calls for Police assistance
– 18 – 911 calls
– 32 traffic complaints
– 9 traffic hazards
– 2 traffic enforcement occurrence’s
– 10 Domestic disputes
– 2 thefts
– 5 suspicious activity call
– 5 family disputes
– 3 assault calls
– 1 mental health call
– 1 community service call
– 1 alarm
– 4 Animal complaints
– 2 Fraud calls
– 2 missing person calls
– 5 Ride Occurrences
– 1 neighbour dispute
– 2 break and enter
– 1 sexual assault
– 1 stolen vehicle
– 3 threat calls
– 3 trespass to property calls
– 2 weapon calls
– 2 fire calls
ASSAULT
(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) On August 23, 2019 at 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Main Street North, North Dundas Township.
Investigation revealed that an adult male had struck another adult male during an altercation. The accused male also caused damage to the home during the incident
The accused became uncooperative with officers during the arrest assaulting and resisting the arrest.
Brandon EDWARDS (age 27) of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (three counts)
– Resist peace officer
– Assault
– Mischief ( two counts)
– Assault peace officer
He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Custice in Cornwall.
ASSAULT
(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On August 23, 2019 at approximately 7:18pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the community center in Winchester, Ontario. Investigation revealed that two adult males had assaulted a 16-year-old male.
Jonathan IRVEN (age 22) of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
Zachary Minarik- Eastman (age 18) of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
Both were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on October 1, 2019.
THREATS
(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On August 23, 2019 at approximately 10:21pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a threatening incident at a residence on St.Lawrence Street, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male threatened an adult female at the location.
Robert HOLLAND (age 25) South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:
– Uttering Threats ( 2 counts)
He was released from custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 8, 2019.
THREATS
(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On August 24, 2019 at approximately 2:58pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a threatening incident at a residence on Stewarts Glen Road, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male threatened an adult male at the location and caused damage to property at the location.
Marc BELANGER (age 40) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with:
– Uttering Threats ( four counts)
– Mischief Under – $5000
He was released from custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on October 2, 2019.
STOLEN FISHING RODS
(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On August 24, 2019 at approximately 4:41pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of multiple fishing rods being taken from a property on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that sometime during the previous days culprit(s) attended the property and removed 8 fishing rods.
An investigation continues.
ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On August 25, 2019 at approximately 4:56pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a disturbance on County Road 43, North Dundas Township.
Investigation indicated that an altercation occurred between two adult males. The accused male displayed a weapon towards the victim and uttered threats.
Jeffrey MOORE (age 57) of North Grenville, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:
– Assault with a weapon
– Uttering threats
– Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg October 1, 2019.
