SD&G OPP NEWS
(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 193 calls for service from Friday February 7, 2020 to Monday February 10, 2020.
Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:
– 53 motor vehicle collisions
– 22 calls for Police assistances
– 4- 911 calls
– 13 traffic complaints
– 19 traffic hazards
– 2 Traffic enforcement occurrences
– 5 Domestic disputes
– 3 thefts
– 3 suspicious activity calls
– 3 family disputes
– 2 mental health calls
– 6 alarms
– 3 Assault calls
– 1 threat call
– 1 Fraud call
– 2 Mischief calls
– 2 neighbour disputes
– 2 RIDE Checks
– 1 sudden death investigation
– 1 Animal complaint
– 2 harassment
REFUSAL
(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On February 7, 2020 at approximately 2:05 a.m, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single vehicle collision on 4Th Line Road, South Glengarry Township involving a passenger vehicle.
The 41 year-old driver, refused to provide a breath sample for the roadside screening device upon request from police.
Trysa STEPPINGS (41) was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail or Refuse to provide Sample
The driver was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 4, 2020.
ASSAULT – DOMESTIC
(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On February 9, 2020 at approximately 10:07 a.m Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult accused had assaulted her partner and caused damage to his property.
A 46-year-old of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
– Mischief
– Fail to comply with conditions of probation order
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 3, 2020.
STOLEN SNOWMOBILE
(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On February 9, 2020 at approximately 11:57 a.m, Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a snowmobile being taken from a property on 171st Avenue, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight February 8-9, 2020 culprits attended the property and removed a Green and Black 2018 Skidoo Renegade X-Tec 1200
An investigation continues.
SHOPLIFT
(NORTH DUNDAS) – On February 9, 2020 at approximately 3:00 p.m, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a theft at a Business on Main Street, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a youth had removed an item from the store (LCBO).
A 17 – year-old from North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting
– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (three counts)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Person under 19 years having liquor (Liquor Licence Act)
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice on March 5, 2020 in Cornwall.
