WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Gagnon, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on February 13th, 2020 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged the woman attended a Ninth Street business on October 8th, 2019 and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. The woman also allegedly breached her probation and warrants were issued for her arrest. On February 13th, 2020, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and released to appear in court on March 17th, 2020.

ASSAULT, THREATS, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 13th, 2020 and charged with assault, threats, theft under $5000, and two counts of breach of youth probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 8th, 2020, the man assaulted a woman known to him and made threats to kill her. It is further alleged on February 9th, 2020, the man took a cell phone belonging to a youth and police were contacted to investigate. On February 13th, 2020, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 13th, 2020 and charged with uttering threats. It is alleged on February 8th, 2020, the youth made threats to kill someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On February 13th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Garry Locke, 66, of St. Andrews was arrested on February 13th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Cornwall Centre Road and Highway 138. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Natasha Lalonde, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on February 13th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on February 13th, the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 26th, 2020.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

There were 53 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8:00 am yesterday to 8:00 am today).
