Cornwall ON – The Washington Capital locked up Alexander Semin for another year. The star goal scorer was due to be a free agent at the end of this year and sports talk radio and bloggers were busy with rumors of where the Russian sniper would end up.
It’s hard to imagine someone scoring a point a game as a slump, but chatter was that Semin’s status was impacting Washington Captain Alex Ovechkin.
So as the play offs near Washington has locked up its other big gun.
This should have an interesting domino effect on the NHL trade market as the All Star Game approaches ( does anyone really care about the All Star game?) as the big gun is one less option for those teams chasing after Lord Stanley’s Cup.
