Shooting Suspect Arrested with Loaded Handgun and Cocaine
(Ottawa)—At approximately 3:30pm on June 17th, 2016, West Division patrol officers responded to a shooting call for service at a residence in the 1300 block of Meadowlands Drive. The investigation revealed that a suspect male had fired a single round into the residence and fled the area. People were inside the residence at the time; however, nobody was injured.
While this investigation was ongoing at approximately 2200hrs, Central Division patrol officers responded to an anonymous call of a male in an apartment with a firearm in the 500 block of Prince Albert Street. Upon arrival, patrol officers encountered the armed suspect who was trying to flee the apartment. The suspect was tackled by patrol officers and a loaded semi automatic handgun as well as 180 grams of cocaine were located and seized on his person. It was then learned that this suspect was the male who was wanted for the shooting incident on Meadowlands Drive earlier in the day.
Moussa Dek OSMAN, 29 years of Ottawa has been charged with several firearm related offences in relation to the shooting incident on Meadowlands Drive as well as several firearm and drug related offences in relation to the incident on Prince Albert Street. He will appear in court on Saturday morning.
