Imagine – You Tube Video of Harper Singing John Lennon Classic Yanked – April 11, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – Imagine.  A powerful word.   A powerful song.  Stephen Harper has just been asked to refrain from using the music made famous by the late former Beatle John Lennon.  A You Tube Video clip of the PM was yanked.  It’s not unusual for a performer to ask that their song not be used by politicians.

The iconoclastic song’s publishing rights are controlled by his widow Yoko Ono.

I personally have never been much of a fan of Ms Oda Ono, but it’s good to see this amazing piece of music,  tribute to almost the exact opposite of what Mr. Harper espouses be remedied.

There was no comment from the Harper bubble who were busy burning Arcade Fire cd’s in light of that Canadian band pointing out that Mr. Harper might not be totally in touch with Canadian youth.

I wonder how Mr. Harper’s Reform type supporters feel about their Candidate singing a song that espouses against religion?

You can post your comments below and Kudos to Arcade Fire!
