CORNWALL Ontario – I not a big fans of muzzles. My legal counsel of course has me muzzled right now. Today by now many of you have read the extremely zealous recounting in other media and the Police blotter regarding a charge laid against myself yesterday here in Cornwall.
I can’t tell you emotionally at the moment what it felt like to be in the bowels of a jail for the very first time in my life. Well I probably can, but again, being muzzled I will have to wait until I’m given the green light.
These charges will be vigorously defended and I have zero doubt that the truth, and what really happened will rule the day. I do have faith in the system; but more importantly I have faith that this experience will expose some real truths about our system and maybe, possibly maybe, lead to some positive changes.
I also can’t believe how much support I’ve already had. It’s kinda awesome when people that don’t like CFN tell me that it can’t be true.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – Jamie Gilcig, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on February 10, 2014 and charged with criminal harassment and threats to life. It is alleged that the man repeatedly contacted a 31-year-old man by way of phone calls and e-mails despite having been warned not to. On February 9th, 2014 the man also threatened to kill the 31-year-old man during one of the calls. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 10th, 2013 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 20th, 2014.
And to the person who suggested that this is somehow a political smear; well, you never know? Again, the truth will come out soon and then it’ll be interesting to see how people react?
In the meanwhile it’s business as usual here at CFN. And can you really believe Seaway News & Standard Free Holder calling me a local website owner instead of the Editor of the most read newspaper in Cornwall? 🙂

Well John it’d be nice to see a strong show of public support – maybe a rally in front of City Hall or the Police station? What do you think the odds of that happening in Cornwall are?
Obviously he didn’t do it. He will be able to show his cell phone (does anyone even have a housephone anymore?????) bill, which shows every single number called from a particular number. The police should spend their time investigating the ip address that used that “bluff your number” site and charge them accordingly, plus charge them for waste of resources just to show anyone else who attempts such idiocity in the future that thier childish behaviour will indeed be held accountable for.

Jamie it is IMPOSSIBLE that this is you. In no way can you Jamie Gilcig do something bad to others. During the few years that I have been reading your paper and seeing you on the net there is absolutely no way in heaven that you could do harm to other people. You are a very gentle soul and anybody who loves dogs the way you do and takes the upmost care is not a person who does wrong to other people. I can smell a rat somewhere coming from City Hall or somewhere like that. Our Jamie of CFN is not that kind of person whether an election or not. You are the best and I don’t say those words lightly unless I had my spidy senses telling me what kind of a person you are. Anybody who did this is going to face jail and it sure isn’t that. There is such a thing as “VOICE PRINTS” and I don’t know if Cornwall’s Barney Fife PD has that kind of thing since they are behind the times. If the person had a recording then the voice print which has to do with the waves of the voice which is like a finger print. At least that can be tested here in Ottawa or TO but Dodge is way behind the times like the latest the 1800’s. Jamie you are the best and in no way are you guilty. You wouldn’t harm a fly. Get yourself a good lawyer and get this rolling. You are innocent 100% and beyond that. You take the best care of yourself and I am always rooting for you.
Even a house phone can be traced. Everything today is computerized whether a house phone that is plugged into the wall or a cell phone – the cops can trace everything even ten or more years ago every call can be traced. Voice prints is how they can tell if it is our Jamie or someone else. Anybody can use a phone but it is in the voice prints that is like a finger print and this is done in the big cities to be examined. Jamie you are innocent all the way. Get a good lawyer even from Ottawa which is better and you can get the guilty person and throw them in the clink for a mighty long time.
I never look at the dirty, filthy toilet paper of record and I will break my promise for once and go and look at the dirty lying story that they printed about you. I stand up for you Jamie and I am so angry that I would like to tear the person that did this piece by piece. I am going to look at the dirty toilet paper of record for this one time to see the dirty filth that they print over a mighty good and decent man. I just read that little piece of s— in the toilet paper of record SF and it doesn’t give the name of this 31 year old that you were supposed to have threatened. All this is some sort of a set up and are very sick. I told you Jamie and I keep my word and that is that I would never set foot to live in Cornwall ever again and I mean that fully right through and through me. There are plenty like myself who have had bad experiences living there along with what I knew of others what they went through. Excuse all my blogs because I am mighty angry at what I read. We hate to even go down there on a visit. We can’t wait to high tail out of there as fast as we could. I am mighty embarrassed about Cornwall and that is the whole truth. I only miss the past like well over 50 years ago but after that it went to hell in a handbasket. The good people are long gone. Only a very few are left and I pity the good people who are stuck down there.

The toilet paper of record SF is operated by a bunch of “prestitutes” aka “the dinosaur media” and nobody is buying or reading their garbage. Jamie these jerks are all mighty jealous of your accomplishments and you have accomplished a great deal more in your five years in Cornwall then they have in all their lifetimes. You are more than qualified to be mayor or anything that you set your mind to. Not one of them can hold a candle to you – they are all washed up. There is no justice in Cornwall and only JUST US and I have said that enough times to make people try and open their eyes that are wide shut to the truth. The whole entire thing is one big scam after another down in Cornwall and I couldn’t take it anymore and I came back to civilization. The town is run by a bunch of “deadbeats” who think that they are something but they are only dirt under my shoes. I have absolutely no respect at all whatsoever for any of them. Hardly anybody is buying any newspaper nowadays and those who buy Cornwall’s toilet paper of record usually has another use for it other than news because it has no news. All that it is good for is to line the bird cage, train your puppy, use as mulch in your garden and maybe help clean windows and not even enough of their garbage paper for that. The printing is being done in Brockville and no longer in Cornwall so can you picture how many jobs are lost. Cornwall is so mighty polluted that it is enough for anybody to become mighty sick.
I read the article again and about threatening e-mails that can be traced easily by the IP address. If the guy whoever did these stupid things (making it up or whatever) would be traced even if he did it through the library or an internet café. Every machine is numbered and traced and who was issued that particular machine at that particular time. You can trace me very easily Jamie I am right here in Ottawa and I am not leaving. The same is true even with the old home phones MA BELL has the tracking of every phone call that we make and to whom. The same is true in the US and nobody can hide that since those corporations are in bed with the feds. Cell phones the same thing every move that we make is tracked and there is nowhere to run. The culprit(s) will be apprehended sooner than we all think. Keep mum Jamie but write things down to consult with your legal counsel. This is quite an issue to deal with and yes jail is demeaning especially to good people like yourself. Keep on plugging and you got them all where they belong at the bottom of the heap. Take good care of yourself and things should go well for you. You have to know what to do.
I have been to a few council meetings since I moved back here in 2010. I was curious as to see if anybody from my youth actually evolved from stealing from neighbors, to stealing from taxpayers, ( Council ). Lo and behold, nobody that I recognize. lol. Anyways, I was at the meeting on the famous evening when Jamie was asked to remove his T-Shirt…That alone showed me how minuscule Bob and family are. I also attended another meeting where I was sitting next to Mr. O’Shaunnesy, I hope I spelled that correctly. His look of disgust matched mine as we both sat there wondering, why the hell are we even here. Well, we were there to see how bad council is ran. I have been to 5 meetings, and lasted at the most maybe 15 minutes. I have known Jamie professionally and personally for over 2 yrs. To see some of the remarks posted up here, is immature to say the least. I stand behind Jamie, he is the only Media/reporter/journalist that brings you the news about corruption in this city. To me, this smells like a black ops operation against Jamie. Being a border town/city with limited options for real news that is not controlled like the Free-Holder, or the Seaway News, CFN is doing a great job of exposing much here. The city controls both papers, if they were to pull their advertising dollars out of both publications, free-holder would be the first to fold, then the seaway news would downsize, and then follow the free-holder. Then what do you have left? CFN Publishing printed material is a dying industry as it is..You go Jamie…

Why don’t you just move? I say this with the utmost concern and respect. The attitudes/feelings/motivations of the power brokers in that town will never change. It’s really too bad that good people suffer immensely in that dirty town by the river. And this says nothing of the underemployed, unemployed and welfare recipients (in other words, the masses) that would rather take a apathy stance towards the way they’re governed.
I don’t mean to lecture you; but I would like to ask you if this is all really worth it at the end of the day?
Cory this is my home. I have roots here. I have friends here and I have family in Montreal. If I ever do move it certainly won’t be because of punks and crooks. And believe it or not a lot of people would be upset if I left or sold CFN. We’ve already seen bad guys like Chris Savard leave, Paul Fitzpatrick forced into retirement in scandal. @ Joseph LaRose ….I highly doubt if the city were to pull their advertising from the Standard-Freeholder that it would fold. One half-page ad every two weeks and the planning / by-law ads is hardly major income for Sun Media.
@ Jules….the Standard-Freeholder hasn’t been printed in Cornwall in a few years. If memory serves me correctly it is printed in Laval. Sun Media prints a lot of their publications out of town. Even the Ottawa Sun isn’t printed in Ottawa.

Jamie, Mrs. Bray and everyone I haven’t slept all night because of this dirty, low life scam that was done to Jamie and it is only the very low class who would pull off such a scam and it is they who are the clique THE EVIL ARCHY who would do such a horrible act. I am in tears thinking about Officer Perry Dunlop and yes he was ostracized by the clique and I can tell you that he was a mighty good man and a mighty good family man and if Perry and his wife would be reading this I would tell them about them being a wonderful couple and wonderful parents. I sure do not want anything to happen to our Jamie either and believe me Jamie what they did to Perry Dunlop who was a former cop they can do even more to you since Perry being a cop knew all about them and how to protect himself. Perry was thrown into the jail here in Ottawa and when he left he was not shaven and they even stole his shoes and it was his wife Helen who borrowed some shoes or slippers for her husband to leave the jail. There are plenty of mighty good people in Cornwall and they are literally stuck down there when they buy a house. I would never make that mistake ever again. I left that town to never look back. When I go down for a visit it is like a haunted place to be and I get out as fast as possible. It has been some months since I went down and the further I push it back the better it is. One day I may not even go down at all and one time it took me three years to go down even when my parents were alive. Jamie stay well and those people are mighty dangerous and I don’t say that lightly.

Montreal, December 5, 2013 – TC Media, a division of TC Transcontinental, and Sun Media Corporation, a subsidiary of Quebecor Media, announce that they have signed a final agreement under which the 74 Sun Media community papers and associated web properties in Quebec will be acquired by TC Media for an amount of $75 million. The agreement has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies, but is subject to regulatory approval from, among others, the Competition Bureau. During the period in which this transaction is being reviewed, the two companies will remain independent and will continue their normal operations. Sun Media will thus continue to publish the community papers covered by the agreement.

When I told my family about this they were shocked. I had to go and lay down for a while since my nerves brought me back to the days of Mr. Perry Dunlop and all the hell that went on down there. I am going to keep my prayers going for you and hope that you gain strength from it but it isn’t enough because I know the mentality there and would never go back there again. Even people that my children went to school with have all left Cornwall for good.
