THREATS
Cornwall, ON – Timothy Masson, 45 of Cornwall was arrested on August 18th, 2014 and charged with threats. It is alleged that on August 8th, 2014 the man posted a Facebook message threatening to cripple a by-law officer. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 18th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DRUG WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Robert Lazore, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on August 18th, 2014 and charged with:
· Possession of Oxycodone
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone
· Possession of Hydromorphone
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Hydromorphone
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (currency)
Breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace and for having prohibited edged weapons (KNIVES)
It is alleged that on August 18th, 2014 members of the Cornwall Street Crime unit executed a warrant at a Brookdale Avenue address and seized a quantity of drugs and cash. Lazore was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Deborah Cooper, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on August 19th, 2014 and charged with breach of recognizance for having consumed alcohol. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of August 19th, 2014 police attended the 500 block of Augustus Street for a suspicious persons call. Once on scene they located the intoxicated woman and took her into custody for breaching her conditions. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
SD&G OPP
MAN CHARGED WITH STOLEN VEHICLE
(South Dundas) – On August 19th, 2014 at approximately 1:23am, an SD&G OPP officer attempted to stop a Sports Utility Vehicle for a traffic violation (speeding) on Highway 401, South Dundas Township. The driver failed to comply with the officer’s demand. The fleeing vehicle was observed being driven in an erratic manner and was subsequently intercepted by officers without incident. A check of the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen from the Deseronto, Ontario area on August 12th, 2014.
Trevor TUCKER (37) of Greater Napanee, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
– Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Drive While Disqualified (3 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)
– Drive while Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall this date.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(South Dundas) – On August 18th, 2014 at approximately 10:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Victoria Park Crescent, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated an altercation between an adult male and his common-law spouse resulted in the male causing damage in the home. Further details revealed both were in breach of conditions imposed from a previous incident.
A 50 year old male and 43 year old female were arrested and are each charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Condition
The male faces an additional charge of;
– Mischief – Domestic
Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
THEFT OF FUEL
(South Stormont) – On August 18th, 2014 at approximately 8:15am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of theft of diesel fuel at a property on Pleasant Valley Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation led officers to the arrest of an adult male.
Ryan LEDUC (19) of South Stormont is charged with;
– Theft under $5000
He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Cornwall on September 18th, 2014.
MISCHIEF
(South Stormont) – On August 18th, 2014 at approximately 8:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a fire near the railway tracks in the area of County Roads 15 & 36, South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed partially burnt cardboard boxes in the area. Also observed was a rock pile on the tracks which could compromise railway travel. No incidents resulted from this incident.

THEFTS
(North Dundas) – Over the past weekend (15-18Aug14), a 2007 white HLMK Utility trailer was taken from a commercial property on County Road 13, North Dundas Township.
(South Stormont) – Between (12-16Aug14), an “Upper Canada” 16’ Canoe with paddles and a “Future Beach Adventure” 8.6’ Kayak with paddle were taken from the Milles Roches Beach area of Long Sault Parkway, South Stormont Township.
Investigations continue.
BREAK-INS
(South Glengarry) – Overnight 17-18Aug14, a residence located on Glen Roy Road, South Glengarry Township was forcibly entered. No items were taken.
(South Glengarry) – On August 18th, 2014 between 5:00am and 4:00pm, a residence located on Concession 2, South Glengarry Township was forcibly entered. A quantity of cash was taken.
Investigations continue.
SCHOOL BUSES ARE ON THEIR WAY!
(Eastern Ontario) – Students are heading back to class and motorists should be on the lookout for students and school buses. The OPP in East Region would like to remind everyone that some school buses will be on the road next week, while the remainder will be back in service on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
“The OPP asks you to be attentive as the youth of our communities return to school in the coming weeks”, said Chief Superintendent Daniel Redmond, Commander of the OPP East Region. “Safety is the number one priority.”
Every driver, encountering a stopped school bus that has its overhead red signal-lights flashing, shall stop before reaching the bus and shall not proceed until the bus moves or the overhead red signal-lights have stopped flashing. (Section 175(11) of the Highway Traffic Act) The minimum fine for failing to stop is $400.
Many children walk to school and motorists should also be aware of the increased pedestrian traffic as children make their way to school. Many may be distracted by excitement for the first day of class. Slowdown in school zones and be extra cautious. Motorists should watch for Community Safety Zones, where speeding fines are increased. Community safety zones are clearly marked with road signs and are found near schools.
Drivers can expect to see an increased police presence. Adjust your driving, pay attention and be prepared to stop for children and school buses. Make it safe for everyone!
| Man arrested with loaded handgun on Rideau Street
(Ottawa) — On Saturday, August 16, 2014 at approximately 1:08 AM, Central Division patrol officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Rideau Street near Dalhousie Street. Officers spoke to one of the males involved and discovered that he had a warrant of apprehension for a Parole Violation. Through the course of their investigation officers located a loaded 9mm handgun concealed on the arrested male. Ismail ISMAIL, 27 yrs is charged as follows:

| Suspects from a Break and Enter at Rideau Centre to identify
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Break and Enter Unit is seeking public assistance to identify two male suspects following a Break and Enter at The Bay located at 73 Rideau Street. During the overnight hours of July 12, 2014, two males broke into The Bay and left with numerous items of clothing. The first male is described as a Caucasian male in his late teens to mid twenties, weighing 130 to 160lbs (59 kg to 73 kg), with a tattoo on the left upper arm. He was wearing a pink and blue tank top, black pants and black shoes with white soles (see picture.) The second male is described also as a Caucasian male in his late teens to mid twenties, weighing 130-160lbs (59 kg to 73 kg). He was wearing a black hoodie with “DC” symbol in white on front, grey shorts and carrying a backpack (see picture.) Anyone with information in relation to this investigation is asked to contact Det.
