SD&G OPP ROAD CLOSURE – COLLISION County Road 2 from County Rd 15 to Moulinette Rd SEPT 8, 2014 UPDATED

(South Stormont) – SD&G OPP officers are presently at the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian which occurred today (08Sep14) at approximately 10:30am on County Road 2, South Stormont Township. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A section of County Road 2 from County Road 15 to Moulinette Road is closed to traffic as emergency personnel tend to the scene. Detours have been put in place.

ROAD CLOSURE – MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

UPDATE 5:00 PM

ROAD CLOSURE – MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION (update)
(South Stormont) – SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators continue their investigation of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian which occurred today (08Sep14) at approximately 10:30am on County Road 2, South Stormont Township.

A Dodge pick-up truck, driven by an 81 year old male (from South Stormont) was westbound on County Road 2 when it collided with a heavy equipment flatbed trailer which was stationary on the north shoulder of the roadway. A 55 year old male (from South Stormont) standing near the trailer was also struck. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A section of County Road 2 between County Road 15 and Mille Roches Road remains closed to traffic and is expected to be re-opened at approximately 6:00pm. Detours have been put in place.

  1. The man was not a pedestrian it was a CORNWALL gravel worker ,
    i was there i seen him laying there not breathing in a pool of blood under the back of his truck.
    The guy the hit him in the black truck was sitting in his truck freaking out.
    nobody was helping this man there was one person standing in the distance to scared to go any closer.There were no cops there no abulances nobody was there. we called 911. We pulled up with the truck and seen the worker not the pedestrian laying there. He was dead. if he is not dead he is a very lucky man because the hit knocked off his work boots they were in the middle of the road by the door of his truck and drug or through him quit a distance.

    The truck that hit him is totaled.

    just thought i would clarify you very bad way of telling the people what happened.
