WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Shaine Robertson, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on December 17th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on October 14th, 2014 the man forcibly removed a gold chain from another man and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 17th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
Cornwall, ON – Nancy Chevrette, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on December 17th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that she submitted forged child care earning exemption forms to the Ontario Works Office between May 4th, 2011 and July 31st, 2012 resulted in an overpayment. Police were notified and an investigation ensued. During the investigation a warrant was issued for her arrest and on December 17th, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on January 27th, 2014.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT POLICE, THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 17th, 2014 and charged with threats, assault and assault police. It is alleged that on December 17th, 2014 police attended an Alice Street address to assist CAS with a matter. During this time the man clenched his fist at one of the workers and threatened to burn her car. The man then spat at police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Robert Hart, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on December 17th, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that during an argument on December 8th, 2014 the man punched a 46-year-old man on the side of the head and police were contacted to investigate. On December 17th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 22nd, 2014.
THEFT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Tate Jocko, 25 of Akwesasne was arrested on December 15th, 2014 and charged with theft under, breach of undertaking for having consumed alcohol and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 15th, 2014 the man attended a Second Street East store and removed a bottle of alcohol making no attempts to pay for the item as he left the store. A member of the Cornwall Community Police Service who was on scene for an unrelated matter took the man into custody and found the man had consumed alcohol despite being on conditions not to. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAMILY DISPUTE
(South Glengarry) – On December 17, 2014 at approximately 1:27pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on Celtic Lane, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a male youth had threatened a family member and caused damage within the home.
The 15-year-old was arrested and is charged with;
– Utter Threat
– Mischief Under $5000
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (December 18, 2014).
DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP
(North Glengarry) – On December 18, 2014 at approximately 2:06am, SD&G OPP officers stopped a vehicle on Kincardine Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
The adult male driver, Yannick HUBER-GARCEAU (18) and passenger Joseph FIGSBY (18), both of Pincourt, Quebec were arrested and each charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on February 4, 2015
YOUTH CHARGED FOLLOWING DISTURBANCE
(South Glengarry) – On December 16, 2014 at approximately 11:51am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Page Drive, South Glengarry Township. A female youth visiting at the home became verbally aggressive when instructed to leave. Upon being arrested by officers, the female became assaultive and threatened police.
The 14-year-old, from Cornwall, is charged with;
– Assault (2 counts)
– Utter Threats (2 counts)
– Mischief Under $5000
– Fail to Leave Premises when Directed (Trespass to Property Act)
She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Leblanc, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on December 16th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the man failed to abide by the conditions of his probation order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 16th, 2014 the man was located at the Cornwall Courthouse, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on December 16th, 2014 and charged with possession of stolen property. It is alleged that the youth was found to be in possession of a Nintendo DS that was reported missing on February 20th, 2014 during a break and enter at an Alice Street address. On December 16th, 2014 the youth met with a member of the Cornwall Criminal Investigation Division who was investigating the break and enter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.
VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN FATAL HOUSE FIRE (update)
(North Dundas) – In an ongoing investigation into a fatal house fire, SD&G OPP are releasing the identity of the victim. Robert GIBSON (61) was located deceased in the home.
On December 10, 2014 at approximately 11:25pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a house fire on Sesame Street in the Village of Winchester, North Dundas Township. North Dundas Fire Department members were on scene to extinguish the fire.
Investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) and the Coroner’s Office, assisted by SD&G OPP officers continue the investigation.
DRUGS SEIZED
(South Glengarry) – On December 15, 2014 at approximately 5:43pm, an OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a traffic (speeding) violation on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana. Three (3) occupants in the vehicle were subsequently arrested.
The adult female driver, Kristin HENDREN (25), and adult male passengers, Jake HENDREN (18) and Airdrie EVAN (18), all from Oshawa, Ontario are each charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
All were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 4, 2015.
(South Dundas) – On December 15, 2014 at approximately 11:21pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) checks on County Road 31 at Highway 401, South Dundas Township. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana.
The adult male driver, Eric ONEIL (27) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on February 3, 2015.
OBSTRUCT JUSTICE
(South Stormont) – On December 16, 2014 at approximately 1:03am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Columbia Avenue, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had occurred involving an adult female, her boyfriend and his roommate. Further information revealed the female provided officers with falsely fabricated details of what had actually transpired.
The 40-year-old female, from Hawkesbury, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Obstruct Justice
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Public Mischief
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (December 16, 2014).
