Dear Editors of all news papers please place this letter addressed to The Honorable Prime Minister,MP’s and MPP’s to alert your readership of the impending laws that Health Care Givers will be forced to participate in against their conscious, against their beliefs, against their Charter of Rights and Freedoms. With a Call to action to all voters.
Dear Honorable Members of Government
I have sent letters in the past regarding Health Care and I have been following the debate and the pending laws being decided upon for Euthanasia in this country.
As Catholics you are aware that the Commandments this Country have been founded on; states that we Shall Not Kill.

I am a Catholic and an RPN practicing in the care giving of all kinds of patients.

I have spoken with and listened to Patients and Doctors and Anesthesiologists regarding this and feel that the information going out to the public is one sided. I have also attended talks by Dr. Margaret Somerville on this topic that she has researched for over 30 years and can be found online.

It is proven that if proper financing was put on living and assisted living, proper pain control measures were in place and funding for proper care-giving and supportive care. The stressors that contribute to a patient wanting to commit suicide would be very much reduced.
As written by Dr. Margaret Somerville of McGill University. Patients want to live. If pain and fear were properly addressed and patients weren’t feeling they were being a burden on family and their pain controlled; most patients would want to live. Also Mental Depression and Mental Health Issues need to be considered and proper care given. As well as age and maturity.
An Anesthesiologist at my plce of work confirmed to me that there is always a way to medicate for pain without killing; as did Dr. M.J. Randlett a local Palliative and Pain control Doctor of our Community.
I am asking you Honorable gentleman in your capacity to become very vocal for the rights of Canadians. And to protect all HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS to not be legislated to kill. Or for doctors not to be mandated to send to a doctor that will. This act is against our Faith and With the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as Canadians this needs to be addressed Now.
Please take the time to read and speak with Dr. Margaret Somerville a McGill University professor; and read her studies that have been done for over 30 years on this same course in the Netherlands. Extermination is more the course there now after 30 years. Even those not given the chance to refuse death. Mentally challenged, Dementia and Alzheimer patients.
This law needs to have many checks and balances put into place. A Carte Blanche for the availability of doctor assisted suicide and assessments will show that many who believe they need to have this will be reduced 95% if proper funding is in place to help families, caregivers of those afflicted with diseases that can be managed. More funding also is needed for Palliative and Hospice care. And development of medical interventions and research. Where humane care is uppermost important.
To re-allocate funding from Abortion Clinics where the mother is not given the Full disclosure of what this will do to her health; or from all the thousands of programs costing Canadians Millions if not Billions for the purpose of pushing the French language issues across this country. This would give more funding to give people the care they need while living out theirs lives. Funding that the elderly have bought and paid for.

Even before this law there are many fighting to live out their lives their way with treatment but are not aloud to do so due to the lack of funding in healthcare at home for the dying or even in hospital.
Honorable Members of Government please allow all members of the caucus to vote their conscious and Mr. McDonnell please use the Not Withstanding Clause to stop this act of barbarism for our area for this impending law.
Please fight the good fight and protect life! You are all in a position to do so please take strength as Daniel did when he fought the Giant. For this fight needs to be won now. Once in place there will a very difficult time changing it. Look at the Abortion laws. Oh yeah! There are none! But that is for another letter!

Darleen I am a Catholic as well and both my husband and I are refusing to go to doctors because of euthenasia and when we got married 42 years ago the priest told us that euthenasia was being planned by the federal government from way back then and we were shocked. We need to leave but we don’t know where. Canada is finished.
Furtz I saw that Pastafarian religion that you speak about and I sent it to Jamie but he didn’t post it and I wanted you to see it. A witch in New Zealand in the Pastafarian religion of yours and I was in shock because I thought that all this was some kind of a joke of yours. Believe me I was thrown by it all.

many boundaries have been fought and won. Canada is a great country and democracy is still the best way to use freedom of speech and vocalize our opinions on this topic of euthanasia and assisted suicide. Although there are many that squawk when we do. Some feel that only their opinion counts and that those who disagreee are religious flakes. Those who have much too lose.
Darlene, Canada is not a theocracy. Our laws are not based on anyone’s religious beliefs. Differing opinions are great, as long as people aren’t forced to live by the religious rules of others.
Just for the record…Canada does not have freedom of speech, that is an American right. Canada has freedom of expression. Sounds similar however it is much less encompassing. The elder Trudeau did embrace free speech hence the 1982 charter. Canadians seem generally not concerned with the resultant restrictions on “free speech” in their country.
Democracy is not something that you ram down someones throat. Rather it is a process that you embrace and use…or lose.
Darlene yesterday I came across something that I wrote from the computer and put it in one of my quilting books and I wrote it down some time ago and it has to do with people electing leaders of having no principal and when one turns their back on God then things go wrong. Canada is going down Darlene and I don’t just say that I mean that fully. You will see things happening very soon.
Darlene there are so many people here on CFN who have turned their backs on God and I sure am not proud of that at all. Darlene the US has freedom of expression and so much more freedom that what we have here in Canada. I have read on line where people in the US and elsewhere compare Canada to a communist country because so much is infiltrated and that is so true.

I used to just brush everything off in past years but I can tell you honestly and truthfully that I have changed so much like a totally different person and my belief is very strong. John I am very much a right winger and that is 100% right on about me and besides being Catholic I am also Christian and I also lean towards the Protestant people. I know too much about what became of the Catholic church that would scare the hell out of my Catholic brethren and they would abandon the faith which I won’t do because it is already in trouble as we speak.

Jules, believe it or not, I have a plastic Jesus on a spring that’s mounted on the dashboard of my car! It’s really quite amazing how it dances up and down when I drive on the gravel roads around my home. I’m looking for another one for my motorcycle, but I fear somebody might steal it when I’m in town. I’m so glad to still be riding a motorcycle and having fun at 68 years old.
Jules I agree with all your insight. It is impossible to make anyone though believe. Furtz is a person that plays the devils advocate and has misconceptions and i think has been hurt by someone claiming to be christian and maybe even catholic. That happens and people all of us are human. Best weapon is prayer. It can be done anywhere.
Canada as a country is a wonderful country. What is needed though is more people like Jamie through this paper; who are willing to shine the light on the lies of those in positions of authority we have elected them into. More people need to pay attention to these next 3 years and vote wisely or better get into the parties and make a difference in the policies they make that become law.

No Darlene. I was raised in the Protestant faith, and realized that it was a crock of poop by the time I was ten years old. Nobody hurt me. I think I was just lucky enough to have a functioning built-in BS detector at an early age.
Darlene I was raised Catholic and I listen to many Protestant preachers on line to find out a lot of the meanings in the Bible. I have seen the terrible hurt done by the Catholic priests back in my day as a child and the faces and the screaching and screaming of the boys in my class who didn’t want to enter the church on the first Friday of the month which we had to attend.

I think that you were raised Baptist and these people are very religious and you made a 360° turnaround and you sound like you were hurt even putting Pastor Newton down and believe me the Pastor knows what he is talking about.

The business people are under the gun and fist of the dispicable mayors and council and it is a horrible way to live. No Jules. I was raised in the United / Presbyterian faith. Not quite as nasty and hair-brained as the Baptist faith, but pretty close. I recall as a seven year old, some idiot in the pulpit calling me a sinner. And I recall thinking to myself that he was a raving ass-hat. And I was right.

I had a brother in law (now deceased) who was Presbityrian and I remember when my husband and I got married he read a passage from his Bible about the Cedar Trees of Lebanon and it was a beautiful passage. I am wondering where it is in the Bible.
Furtz I am not some goody two shoes and that I admit. I have made my mistakes in life and there is not one person on earth who is perfect. I see you have a great deal of very good qualities and have a great sense of humor and you cannot let someone get you down because of names. If you ever get to read about what went on in the Duplessis years in Québec you would be shocked. I read a book in French and I can’t remember the title but dealt with a certain individual and nobody would ever support this at all.
Yes Jamie that is the truth but the business people should know better. A small town with a small mentality that is run by the worst people in the town hall. Furtz you don’t have to believe in a certain particular denomination and all it takes is belief in God and that is the way to live. Every denomination will turn you off because they are man made. It is your heart and soul that counts in your belief and not some particular rules of a church. Priests, as well as ministers, rabbis, etc. sin and have their faults.
If society determines their own absolute morality, than anything is fair game. Amoral because moral because the mob says it so! But as history has proven over and over, mankind on a whole has dropped the ball every time when it comes to determining right from wrong. So abortion is moral. Mercy killing moral! Incest moral! Furtz all denominations are nasty and hair brained and it wasn’t too long ago that I found out things about the Catholic church that turned me away and would turn plenty of people away if they knew. One Catholic priest in Cornwall who is (was) famous was like Rasputin (a former Orthodox priest in Russia in past years) and canoodling around and you know what I mean.
Just this morning my husband was talking about in his country there is what they call “crime d’honeur” “honor killing” and people take the law in their own hands. There is no real government in Lebanon just now but this has been going on all the time. If things go wrong and you take the law in your own hands then it becomes like the animal kingdom.

Pastor Newton I have read that passage in the Bible as well. I think that Furtz is just pulling your leg and something made him go against religion. I am always trying to figure him out but I end up laughing myself to pieces. People will find out that your preaching is real and they won’t know it until it hits them. The economy is coming down and starvation is coming. That is also in the Bibl
History repeats itself and this is something that our glorious and funny Furtz does not realize. The Bible is an old book from the Middle East but reflects in our lives today, tomorrow and forever. We are headed towards a major collapse and it is just around the corner and people will go hungry and lose everything – it is all coming to fruition.
