Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [HAWKESBURY] SHOOTING INCIDENT IN TOWNSHIP OF “LA NATION” 2016-03-22
The Hawkesbury OPP was called to investigate a shooting incident that occurred in a field east of North Dixon Factory Road, near Chartrand Road, adjacent to the Nation River in the Township of La Nation, shortly before 5 pm, on March 18th.
The investigation revealed that two 16 year old males were hunting geese in a nearby field. During the hunt, a shotgun that was being carried by one of the teenagers, accidently discharged injuring one of the boys in a leg. He was transported to hospital via air ambulance.
At the time of the release, the injured youth was in stable condition, recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of this release, no charges had been laid.
The matter is still under investigation.
