YOUTHS CHARGED IN BREAK-IN
(North Glengarry) – On September 13, 2016 at approximately 8:41am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a break-in at a commercial property on Main Street North in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that three (3) All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) had been stolen. Officers recovered the ATV’s abandoned in a field nearby and intercepted two (2) male youths observed in the area.
A 15-year-old and a 14-year-old, both from North Glengarry Township were arrested and each charged with;
– Break and Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 10, 2016. Their names are being withheld as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal justice Act (YCJA).
FAMILY DISPUTES
(North Glengarry) – On September 13, 2016 at approximately 3:59pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on Dominion Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and a family member resulted in the accused causing damage within the home.
The 18-year-old was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief Under $5000
– Fail to Comply with YCJA sentence (condition from previous incident)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal justice Act (YCJA) and to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Glengarry) – On September 13, 2016 at approximately 8:08pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on Duncan Street, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a female youth and a family member resulted in the accused uttering threats and causing damage within the home. Upon her arrest, she became assaultive towards officers.
The 12-year-old is charged with;
– Assault Peace Officer
– Utter Threats
– Mischief Under $5000
She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. Her name is being withheld as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal justice Act (YCJA) and to protect the identity of the victim.
