IMPAIRED DRIVERS
(South Stormont) – On October 29, 2016 at approximately 10:50pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 44 (Headline Road), South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Allan BUTLER (54) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 6, 2016.
(North Glengarry) – On October 30, 2016 at approximately 3:52am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a two (2) motor vehicle collision on MacDonald Boulevard in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver of one vehicle involved was under the influence of alcohol.
Keith EVRALL (24) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on December 7, 2016.
DRUGS SEIZED
(South Glengarry) – On October 28, 2016 at approximately 10:21pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana and cannabis resin (hash).
The 17-year-old female driver from Brossard, Quebec and 18-year-old female passenger from Longueuil, Quebec were both arrested and each charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on December 7, 2016. The names of the accused are being withheld as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREACH OF CONDITIONS
(South Dundas) – On October 28, 2016 at approximately 9:12pm, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver was in contravention of conditions (Remain in the Province of New-Brunswick and abstain from the consumption of alcohol) stemming from a previous incident.
Cory SMITH (37) of Lincoln, New-Brunswick was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking (2 counts)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
(North Dundas) – On October 29, 2016 at approximately 3:33pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Ralph Street, North Dundas Township (Morewood). A check of an adult male passenger indicated that he was in contravention of a condition (remain in the City of Ottawa) stemming from a previous incident.
Gary PINE (40) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
SCAM
(North Dundas) – On October 28, 2016 – SD&G OPP received a report of a scam involving the Township of North Dundas. Investigation indicated that the Township’s fax number was being utilized fraudulently to contact residents in order to provide access to homes and obtain information on the condition of residential furnaces. Door to door visits were also reported. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to police by calling 1-888-310-1122.
An investigation continues.
