BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 1st, 2017 and charged with breach of probation for having communicated with his ex, being within 250 meters of where she might be, not leaving the area immediately and for failing to keep the peace.
It is alleged on July 29th, 2017 the man was seen with his ex-common-law wife at the Lamoureux Park despite his conditions and police were contacted to investigate. On August 1st, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 1st, 2017 and charged with assault and forcible confinement. It is alleged on May 19th, 2016 the man assaulted his common-law-wife and prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted on July 31st, 2017 and an investigation ensued. On August 1st, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Akwesasne man was arrested on August 1st, 2017 and charged with assault with a weapon and forcible confinement. It is alleged during an argument in August, 2016 the man threw items at his girlfriend and prevented her from leaving the residence. On August 1st, 2017 police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was then stopped at the Port of Entry, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
